HerMeals: Blaze Pizza

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSD chapter.

Located in the UCSD hub of Target and Vallarta’s on Genesee lies greatness by the name of Blaze Pizza. Blaze Pizza is known for their completely customizable individual pizzas that are both delicious and affordable. For $7.95 you get to choose from a variety of sauces, cheeses, and unlimited toppings. Yeah I said it, UNLIMITED toppings. Now if this scares you indecisive humans, there is also a menu of Blaze’s personal creations to choose from. I tried the White Top which consisted of white cream sauce with mozzarella, applewood bacon, chopped garlic, oregano, and arugula. The crust with thin, the pizza was warm, and you could taste all of the different ingredients working together in pizza perfection.

Although the taste was superb at Blaze, the most memorable part of the experience was the customer service. The restaurant is laid out in a way where your pizza is passed along an assembly line of the vast number of toppings available, finishing with a quick firing in their wood-fired oven. The process was quick and enjoyable. Each person that worked on my pizza would call me by name (they take your name at the beginning), offer a smile, and even chat with me as they were assembling the toppings. At one point it even seemed like the manager at Blaze jumped in to interact with the costumers, and he looked like he was having the time of his life! Their sweet smiles and great attitudes were infectious, putting me in a great mood before I even got my pizza. But when I got my pizza, I was transported to the ultimate pizza heaven. So for once, collegiettes go somewhere besides Vallarta’s on your trip to Target. Check out Blaze for an awesome pizza experience!
