What would you say is your best feature? Gratitude. At certain times I’ll take a step back, look at my problems, and realize how fortunate I am for what I have. It may sound cliché but having an objective viewpoint on things really puts everything into the right perspective.

Favorite movies? Looper and Interstellar

If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Friendly, Understanding, and Motivated.

Who is your celebrity crush? Can’t say I’m crushing too hard on any celebrity, but if I had to pick it would definitely be Emma Watson.

Do you have any pet peeves? Dishonesty, I really think it shows a person’s true colors when they choose the easy way out of a situation by lying.

What do you look for most in a significant other? I really look for something different, something unique that I don’t see somewhere else. A good sense of humor is also a must since I can sometimes be sarcastic.

If you had all the money in the world how would you spend it? Well first there’s the obvious priority of alleviating the global suffering that much of the world turns their back to. Besides that though, I would put a lot of funds into NASA’s space exploration program. I would love to see what’s really out there and to understand more because at times I feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface. A lot of the money would also go towards medical research because everyone deserves a full lifetime experience. After the rest of the world is satisfied I would spend the rest of my life traveling and seeing as many different cultures as possible. I feel like I’ve lived in a protected bubble most of my life and I’d love to have the chance to see what else is out there.

Tell us one thing not many people know about you. I played Jack in “Jack and the Beanstalk” in my third grade play.

What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment at this point in your college career? Fall quarter of my freshman year I rushed the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and it has without a doubt been the best decision I’ve made since I came here to UCSD. I mention that because within the fraternity lies my greatest accomplishment: leadership. I’ve been an active member of the Judicial Board and have held the role of Community Service chair for the past quarter. A little more than a week ago I became the new Secretary for the executive board. My brothers have driven me to become something more and I am very excited for what’s to come.
Jasmine is currently a senior at the University of California, San Diego. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Education Studies. Jasmine is the Co-Campus Correspondent for Her Campus UCSD, along with the amazing Taylor Zepeda. Jasmine spends most of her time volunteering at low socioeconomic status elementary schools across the San Diego county and grading papers for classes she is a Teacher's Assistant in. Novel wise, she is an avid fan of Edith Wharton and the Lord of the Rings series. She also loves comedic shows like New Girl and The Big Bang Theory, but also enjoys thrillers like Criminal Minds. One of Jasmine's favorite hobbies is trying foods of different cultures; she loves visiting cultural nights and community festivals. Above all, Jasmine worships Beyonce (a.k.a. Beysus, Queen Bee, Baeyonce, etc). Her future aspiration in life is to become the Secretary of Education and have the Hov and B over for dinners.
