5 Secret Things to Do at the Disneyland Resort!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSD chapter.

Hello there, collegiettes!

This is Megan: Disney lover, Vinylmation collector, avid Disney movie watcher, Annual Passholder, and self-proclaimed Disneyland expert (I pride myself on it, actually).

We at Her Campus UCSD have complied a list of fun Disneyland and California Adventure tips and secret things to do that you may or may not have known about already, so here we go!

1. Spot the celebrity. If you are as obsessed with seeing celebrities as we are, keep yours eyes peeled for cast members in the red and blue plaid vests. If there is a celebrity in the park, they will most likely have one of these cast members to guide them. You will also most likely see them cutting you in line. Oh, the perks of being rich and famous.

 2. Go for single rider. Since the buzz of the new ride Radiator Springs ride hasn’t worn off yet, the wait time is usually over two hours. Bypass this by riding it alone; you get to use the Fast Pass line! Although it’s a little lonely, the ride is super enjoyable, and you can wave to your friends from your car!

3. Find those drinks! For those of you over 21, although Disneyland doesn’t serve alcohol in the park besides in Club 33 (that’s a whole other story), there are plenty of options in California Adventure and Downtown Disney! They serve drinks at Disney prices, of course, but they also serve beautiful looking drinks that are so delicious. Check out the Mad T-Party after dark for glowing drinks, or the Cove Bar for lots of different options.

4. Animate. Check out the Animation Studio; not many people know about this area in California Adventure, and it’s amazing. The building is in the Hollywood Studios section, and it is a great place to relax and take a break. The lights are dim, and there’s air conditioning. But for more details, you’ll have to see for yourself!

5. Get the discount! There is a deal going on right now for So Cal residents! Thank you UCSD for letting us qualify for that. For $129, you get one whole day at Disneyland and one whole day at California Adventure! That’s 2 days for less than the price of a 1 day park hopper ticket, and it’s only about an hour away from UCSD!
