Stuck in your dorm or apartment on Halloween? Here’s a list of 5 things you can do on campus or around San Diego to celebrate.

  1. Watch Halloween movies with your friends or roommates.

There are plenty of Halloween movies that you can watch to get in the Halloween spirit. If you are looking for a scare, horror movies like Friday the 13th or Parasite can be a thrill. If you are not into scary movies, classics like Nightmare Before Christmas or Coraline are always good to celebrate the holiday.

  1. Go trick or treating.

You can never be too old to dress up. There are lots of neighborhoods around UCSD where you can go trick or treating and show off your costume.

  1. Decorate your dorm or apartment.

Whether you buy them at the store or make your own, decorating your dorm or apartment can be a great way to get into the Halloween spirit. You can invite your roommates and create a night full of fun and bonding.

  1. Carve pumpkins.

Take part in this classic Halloween tradition. The grocery shuttle can take you to the local grocery stores to purchase your supplies. These can be a great addition to your dorm or apartment’s decor.

  1. Go to a haunted destination.

If you’re looking to venture off campus, The Haunted Trail in Balboa is a great Halloween destination in San Diego. Open till 11pm on Halloween night, you can pay as little as $25 for a scary Halloween experience. The Whaley House is another spooky experience in San Diego. Alleged to be haunted, this house in Old Town offers day and night tours and can be reached by the city buses that serve UCSD.
