The Top Shows to ‘Fall’ for this Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.
Fall is finally here, and it’s safe to say that nearly everyone is excited about the end of the summer television hiatus! From tried-and-true favorites to your soon-to-be favorites, we’ve rounded up the top shows that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, furiously sipping that pumpkin spice latte in hand.

Scream Queens
This horror-comedy is sure to pack a punch (or should I say, stab?) with its plotline involving a masked killer nicknamed the Red Devil committing a series of mass murders in the halls of Kappa Kappa Tau sorority house. And come on, Emma Roberts just kills it as the diva sorority leader.

We do too, Chanel, we do too.

American Horror Story: Hotel
If you’re looking for less comedy and more horror, Ryan Murphy still has your back with another season of American Horror Story. This season, the show is set in the spooky Hotel Cortez owned by The Countess played by Lady Gaga. If that tidbit isn’t enough to make you tune in, we don’t know what will!

Glamorous and spooky. Well played, Gaga.

Quantico
If you’re looking for something thrilling but a little less gory, this new series focuses on the character of Alex Parish, a young FBI recruit as she attends a training academy called Quantico. In a flash forward format, the show’s mystery revolves around discovering which Quantico trainee is the culprit of the biggest terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11.

Intense much?

Grey’s Anatomy
With death of McDreamy, I’m sure we’re all interested on how Dr. Meredith Grey will go on without her one true love. Set three months after the death of Dr. Shepherd, the show picks up on a happier note, with Meredith focusing more on her career and family life.

Tellin’ it like it is since 2005.

Vampire Diaries
Your favorite vampire brothers are back for a seventh season, but this time, they’ll be without the now sleeping beauty, Elena. While it won’t ever be the same without the show’s former female protagonist, stay tuned because Elena’s departure means more screen time for the Salvatore brothers.

See, Damon knows what’s up.

Hi, Collegiettes! I'm Carmen, a Communication major at University of California, Santa Barbara and one of two Campus Correspondents for UCSB. I would love to one day work in either fashion, food, tech, financial services or philanthropy. My dream is to find a job that somehow combines several of those elements. Until I get there, I'll be munching on copious amounts of Trader Joe's dried mango, jamming out to my man, Frank Sinatra, and focusing on creating intriguing content! If you like my writing, talk to me. ;)
Kirby is a recent graduate from UCSB currently living in Los Angeles. As a proud Her Campus UCSB alum, she's happy to be back on the HC team covering one of her fave shows: "The Mindy Project." On any given day you can find her with her nose in a book (let's be real - it's a Kindle). In her free time, she likes petting dogs, binge-watching TV, and eating a lot of food. Find her on Instagram: @kirbynicoleb or @GirlBossEats.
