Lauren’s Beauty Blog: A New Twist To Your Favorite Spring Mani

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

There are all kinds of new, fun spring nail trends that are being featured in magazines, online, and by our favorite celebs. One of the chicest ways to spice up your plain mani is to paint one nail with sparkles. While this is cute and easy to do, there are lots of other ways to play up the sparkles in your average nail polish. I tired out this fun new design over the weekend that was surprisingly easy, so follow these easy steps to get your own:

What you’ll need: base color nail polish, sparkle nail polish, topcoat, tape, scissors

1. Pick your colors. (Next time I am going to try black with gold sparkles!)
2. Paint all your nails the base color you picked out (except your ring finger!)

3. While your nails are drying paint your ring finger with sparkles. Wait AT LEAST an hour before starting the sparkles- I didn’t and the tape pulled all the nail polish off L
4. After your base coat is completely dry, cut a normal strip of tape in half and line them up to create a triangle at the bottom of your nail

5. Paint sparkles into the triangles
6. Wait for the sparkles to dry a little bit (like 5 min) and peel the tape off
7. Go over nails with topcoat and admire your auh-mazing new mani!

This type of nail design was surprisingly easy to do and came out really well! Even if I was a little impatient and messed them up a bit… so get creative and let me know what kinds of cool color schemes that you can come up with! Thanks for reading!
