This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

For those of you graduating and looking to travel after college, or just planning an adventurous summer before getting back on the school grind, here is a list of countries to travel to that will actually be nice to your wallet.

1. Fiji

Although there’s many expensive resorts in Fiji, there’s hostels and guesthouses that go for around $25.  Transportation is cheap, and the beach is free!

2. Portugal

This stunning country offers everything from drinks and food to hotels at affordable prices!

3. Peru

Meals are hardly ever over $5 here, and you can go anywhere in the country for under $30!

4. China

Here, local transportation costs less than a dollar, food is $2-$5, and room is around $20.

5. Thailand

A meal in Thailand is about $5 and a beer is only $2!  And the view is priceless.

6. India

Once the expensive flight to India is paid for, everything else is relatively cheap.  It would be easy to spend less that $50 a day here.

7. Greece

Greece has comparable prices to Thailand, with food from $3-$10 and drinks at $3.

8. Indonesia

Bali is a popular destination for many, and it’s nice for your budget too!  Activities cost around $10 and rooms are affordable.

9. Guatemala

Hotels here are around $15 and a beer is less than a dollar!

10. Cambodia

In Cambodia, you can eat your heart out at $2 for local food!

Siobhán is a fourth year English major at UCSB. She is originally from the Bay Area and still misses hearing "hella" on the daily. She loves the ocean, photography/ film, music, and good eats (especially burritos). In her free time, she likes to obsessively watch Netflix, watch the sunset, and experiment with new recipes in the kitchen! You can see what she is up to on her instagram @swetzelll.
Kirby is a recent graduate from UCSB currently living in Los Angeles. As a proud Her Campus UCSB alum, she's happy to be back on the HC team covering one of her fave shows: "The Mindy Project." On any given day you can find her with her nose in a book (let's be real - it's a Kindle). In her free time, she likes petting dogs, binge-watching TV, and eating a lot of food. Find her on Instagram: @kirbynicoleb or @GirlBossEats.
