Who says it’s all about California boys? Sometimes you just can’t beat the genuineness and charm of a homegrown midwestern boy. We interviewed one of our finest out-of-staters, Jordan Halfman, to learn about dates, pastimes, and tractor rides.
Jordan Halfman
Year: Junior
Major: Psychobiology
Hometown: Edwardsville, Illinois
Relationship Status: Single
What do you do when you’re not studying psychobio?
I work at Hedrick front desk where I mostly give people trash bags and quarters. I also like to play basketball with friends, watch movies and TV (the Office), play video games, and make late night trips to Denny’s for unlimited pancakes.
Where do you go on dates in the midwest?
Most people imagine us taking girls on tractor rides or to drive-in movies in a cornfield. That’s only true like an eighth of the time. Other times we’re just trying to make up for the fact that we don’t have beaches to take our dates to.
Favorite phrase? Least favorite?
Favorite: “big plays” Least Favorite: “get swole”
Do you have any hidden talents?
I play the guitar. I guess not everyone knows that about me. I’ve played for a few years. I never took lessons, so I can’t freestyle or anything. I just like to learn and sing songs that I like for fun.
If you could do anything this Spring Break, what would it be?
Canada. Definitely Canada. I would drive straight up to Vancouver (and beyond) and see what there is to see. I’ve never been and I hear it’s really beautiful up there. Plus it’s only a 22 hour drive. That’s closer than home!
Ok last question: Where do you go to eat in Westwood?
Right now I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and have gone to 800 Degrees a few times. The pizza is good, but the real reason I go is that amazing soda machine they have there.
