Why You Should Get a Valentine’s Day Gift for Your Boyfriend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

I know what you’re thinking.

“Why should I worry about getting my boyfriend a heart-shaped box of assorted chocolates when he should be surprising me with a dozen roses and dinner on the beach?”

Okay, maybe you aren’t THAT heartless (and sometimes it’s nice to think Blair Waldorf isn’t either) but for as long as you can remember, Valentine’s Day has carried the connotation that it is a “girl’s holiday.” It’s the one day of the year that your boyfriend is obligated to treat you like the princess you are and make all of your heart’s desires come true.

Well I’m here to say heck yeah you deserve the picture-perfect Valentine’s Day! You deserve the sharp dressed man to show up at your apartment holding a giant bouqet of red roses and chocolate covered strawberries. You deserve good food and even better conversation. Let’s face it, you deserve the world – although it’ll probably be impossible for your boy toy to pull that one off. Either way, if you have a boyfriend, you know that you’re going to be nothing short of spoiled this February 14.

What girls seem to overlook during this highly affectionate holiday is that showing love is supposed to be reciprocated. Your boyfriend actually took the time to make sure that whatever he decided to get you or wherever he decided to take you would put a smile on your face. Don’t you think it’s only fair to put a smile on his?

I’m not saying drop everything and buy NFL game day tickets. I’m saying give him a little something that shows how much you appreciate him.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

The point is, you know your boyfriend better than anyone else. You know what he loves (besides you of course) and you know what will make his little heart jump for joy. He will be excited no matter what you decide to surpise him with, so get to brainstorming!

Oh, and if all else fails just go old school with one of these…
