Valentine’s Day on the Cheap

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

Let’s face it: Valentine’s Day is expensive whether you’re a girl or a guy. Between presents, dinner reservations and a new outfit, it’s not so uncommon for the average college student to dread V-Day. Luckily, you and your love can enjoy Valentine’s Day on the cheap this year. Central Florida is offering Valentine’s Day date nights for couples on a budget. Here’s how:

Leu Gardens Valentine’s Movie- “The Vow”

Gardens open at 6 p.m. Movie starts at 7:30 p.m.

$5 plus tax for adults

Popcorn Flicks in Central Park featuring “From Here to Eternity”

Central Park in Downtown Winter Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring your blanket or chair to enjoy the movie under the stars in Central Park.

Free, Contact: 407-629-0054

Does your Valentine love sports? Orlando Magic game tickets are less than $15! Some games are scheduled close to V-Day, so cheer on the magic with your valentine on a date that’s sure to be a fun time.

Another way to show your love this V-Day is with a homemade meal for two. Even if you’re not an awesome cook, making something at home shows your sensitive side and saves your wallet a few bucks. Does your valentine have a favorite meal from home? Make it! It will show him or her that you care about them and really want to make Valentine’s Day special. A meal at home can be romantic: light candles, buy a bottle of wine, even dress up to set the mood of a fancy restaurant, without the fancy price.

If you don’t have a valentine and would rather make V-Day a night out with your friends, head to The Station for some great food, music and drinks. The Station is pairing with Her Campus UCF to bring you a Valentine’s Day unlike any other. Five dollar cover plus $1 off if you have a HCUCF wristband. Celebrate V-Day on the cheap and meet new people at The Station UCF.
