“The Station”- Worth the Wait

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

With much anticipation, the UCF area’s newest bar, The Station, is FINALLY open! Since “the plaza” closed last fall, new bars have been popping up all over town.  However, The Station is sure to stand out as a favorite for UCF students.

“It’s a very uplifting bar,” UCF student, Jessica Costa says.

Upon entering, you are surrounded by color and creative design.  From the graffiti on one wall to the famous street signs on another, it really feels like you are inside a station.

The bar itself is a large rectangle shape.  Inside the bar is a 3D skyline of a city.  White lights illuminate the city skyline and numerous bottles sit in front of the skyline with neon colors shining through.

Happy hour was packed with people laughing and sipping on drinks.  Everyone dressed fairly casual, with trendy outfits on the girls and jeans on the guys.

During happy hour, The Station offers $4 pitchers and $1 margaritas.  Their beer variety is very impressive.  There are six types of beer on tap and lots of options for bottled beer.

Usually, as the line outside a bar gets longer and longer, so does the line for the bathroom. The bathroom at The Station was surprisingly big.  It’s a nice change from the usual tiny bar bathroom with hardly any room to wash your hands without saying, “Excuse me. Sorry,” a million times.

“There is actually no line at the bathroom because there are so many stalls,” Costa says.

Another section of the bar housed the DJ booth and a dance floor.  The Station played a mix of new and old songs that kept a relaxed vibe throughout the bar.

The food at The Station is not your typical hot wings and greasy fries.  From “Mexican Border Tortilla” soup to “Pulled Pork Rail,” The Station’s food is far from ordinary.

The Station offers a change of pace when going out to a bar.  It’s classy with a modern touch that makes you feel like you’re at a fancy club, minus the pricy cover and drinks.

“I will definitely go back to The Station.  It was fun and I liked the atmosphere a lot,” UCF student, Rebeca Butar says.
