Red Bull Sound Select Tour Bus Is Coming to UCF!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

Collegiettes™, I’ve got some awesome news worth getting excited over – a FREE show! Yes, I said FREE. Red Bull Sound Select Tour Bus has chosen the University of Central Florida as one of four lucky locations to get groovy with three great bands that we love. Cherub will be headlining, but let’s not let them steal all the thunder! Caurosel and Future Unlimited will be joining them to give us the complete intimate show which we desire. This show is being held at Firestone Live! in downtown Orlando via Red Bull Sound Select Tour Bus. There will be transportation provided from the UCF area to downtown, so there’s no need to worry about driving! If you are not familiar with the perks of this tour bus, you are certainly in for a treat! This tour bus is like none other because it transforms into a stage that is completely equipped with all the best sound technology. According Red Bull’s media release, Cherub, Carousel, and Future Unlimited are all a part of Red Bull Sound Select, which is a long-term artist development program that invests in local music scenes, and connects artists and fans with one another to be part of the stories that break music.

Let’s get down to business on how you can win some freebies! To participate:

  •  You must have RSVP’d to this link (http://win.gs/flatour) to be granted admission to the show.
  •  You must follow @HerCampusUCF on Instagram.
  •  You must have posted the picture below and hashtagged #HClovesRBSS. Let us know who you’re most excited to see!

We will randomly select two lucky winners next Tuesday, April 15th, and distribute prizes that day.

Each winner will walk away with:

  • Three cases of Red Bull Editions (Red, Silver, Blue)
  • 1 Cherub CD
  • Red Bull Sound Select Swag Bags

Fun fact: Cherub started in Nashville, Tennessee, when Jason Huber and Jordan Kelley met at college while both studying Music Production.  They started out by recording their music and making it free to listen while offering an option for donation if listeners liked what they heard. This unconventional tactic gave the freedom for people to share their music with anyone, although a risky move for new musicians the outcome was a huge success. In an interview with radio.com’s blogger Shannon Carlin, Kelley was quoted, “That’s really the thing that’s kept us going. The word of mouth of everyone around has been the best thing for us.” Their first big moment of stardom was last year at Lollaplooza (a summer music festival in Chicago), when Red Bull sponsorship had made sure to plaster their faces all over the city. They reportedly had a full house at their set and it was a huge success! This year they will be featured at Bonaroo (a Woodstock-styled music festival in Tennessee, their home state).

This is a perfect study break for everyone cramming for finals! I hope to see you all there!
