Orlando Prowler: Sara Rolon

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

Meet Sara Rolon. Not only an Orlando Predators arena football dancer, but also one of our very own Knights! She’s beautiful, talented and full of drive to never give up on the thing she loves most; dancing.

Major:  Event Management

Year:  Junior

Hometown:  Orlando, Florida

What made you want to become an Orlando Predators dancer?

Dancing has always been a passion of mine and a big part of my life. I couldn’t imagine not dancing while I was in college. I went to a game and decided to try out and have been a part of the organization for three years.

What type of process is it to be selected as a dancer?

It is a week long process starting with preliminary rounds that help make the Top 20 girls who go to finals. Leading up to finals we have interviews and a bootcamp. At the end of the week, finals are open to the public and the 12 Orlando Predator Prowlers are selected.

Is it true that you are the youngest out of the group of dancers?

My first season, yes I was the baby but my second and third season I have passed that torch of being the youngest to another girl :)

What was your most memorable moment as a Prowler?

My most memorable moment as a Prowler would be when I was picked to be a part of the Dream Team and represent the Prowlers in the 2013 Arenabowl. The Dream Team is a dancer from each team in the AFL that fans get to vote for and are selected to dance in the Arenabowl.

Now that the Predators play at the CFE Arena at UCF, do you hope to see more UCF students attending the games?

Absolutely! I would love to see more students come out to the games. They are so fun and you get to see one action packed game.

Is there any special deal on tickets for UCF students?

Student tickets are only $8 and we have a whole section designated just for students.

Tell me about your other job?

Other than school and the Predators, I do work on the times I’m not with those two commitments. I work at a hotel as a front desk agent.

Is it hard keeping up with these two jobs and school?

Having all three of these commitments is really tough sometimes but I have learned how to time manage everything very well. :)

Sara should be an inspiration to all of us to follow our ambitions. She took a chance and tried out for the Orlando Prowlers among 40 other girls, and all three years she earned her rightful spot of the 12 Prowlers. The discount UCF students receive on tickets to these fun and action packed games is a steal! So Knights, take some time out of your schedule and make your way on over to the CFE Arena for a good time and a break from your studies. While you’re there look out for your very own UCF Knight, Sara Rolon busting a move on the field!
