Those of you with siblings may know the ups and downs of having bigger or smaller shadows. The competition, the rivalry, the bond, and special moments of growing up together. However very few would know the total chaos that comes with having five, count them, five siblings.
For one thing, you will never be bored.
Whether your little brother just broke his leg trying to slide down the staircase banister (again), or your older sister is protesting meat this month, there is always something going on.
Competition can pretty much make you do anything.
The double-dog-dare-you’s trigger something inside you that makes you do it. Your parents know this and try to apply your drive for competition to do chores, “who can clean the fastest?”….no matter how stupid, you can’t resist the sweet victory of defeating your (obviously weaker) siblings!
Fighting for your food is never not a thing.
Occasionally, you yell over your friends order in the drive through to make sure they got your food as well. It’s a bad habit, but it is ingrained in you forever, do not try to fight it.
People will talk about your conception with you.
“Wow your parents must have been busy!” Like, can you not? Ew.
Living alone will never be an option.
Your days of sharing rooms and snuggling your siblings have left their mark, and now you can’t seem to sleep without a pet or roommate near by…
You will always have at least 5 best friends.
Not a bad trade for all the gum thrown in your hair over the years.
