5 Gifts To Get Your Boyfriend For Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCF chapter.

It’s February and you know what that means: the month of love. As someone who’s been in a relationship for almost six years, I’m well aware of how challenging it can get to spice up the gifts for this holiday. For girls it seems so easy: all they need is chocolate, flowers and a stuffed animal. So what do guys want? Here is a list of things that I have purchased in the past or gift ideas I plan to use in the future. Feel free to use them and make your shopping a little less stressful.

Food

Let’s start off easy. We all know chocolate is essential for Valentine’s Day, and it doesn’t have to be just for the girls. Even if chocolate isn’t a fan fave of theirs, you can still create a care package of their favorite snacks or candies that they are bound to love. You can even add a Chick-fil-a gift card if you are feeling extra nice. I remember one year I made a box with all his favorite things like Takis, Sour Patch Kids, Skittles, Reese’s and a gift card.

Video GameS

We know how much boys love their video games, and they will love you even more if you ended up gifting them one. Alongside the candy, you can buy them a video game they’ve been wanting recently or an Xbox or Steam gift card (for the PC gamers) that they can use to buy games themselves if you are unsure of what’s raving right now. This gift will be a fan favorite for sure.

Love Box

This one is geared towards my long-distance couples; although anyone can use this sweet gift. The Lovebox is a box that you can plug in and receive messages. The person who purchased it downloads an app where you can send messages to your significant other’s box. The heart attached to the box will spin when a message has been sent, and the message will pop up on the screen of the box. This adds a fun element to your communication and it is so exciting when you see the heart spinning. My boyfriend got me this years ago and we still use it! Cologne

You can never go wrong with cologne – a classic gift for a guy. It shows that you put in the effort to find something that not only you like, but also what he likes. A huge pro is that he would be smelling very good thanks to you… and I can’t really think of any cons. My personal favorites are Polo Red and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue.

The night sky

Last but not least, you have probably seen this everywhere. “The Night Sky” is a custom image that you can frame, where you enter any date that you’d like, and it will map what the stars looked like that night. For example, a cute idea would be to use the date you and your boyfriend met or when you first started dating. It’s such a meaningful Valentine’s gift that would be paired nicely with a small picture frame of you two. He can hang the night sky on the wall and keep the photo of you on his nightstand. I know it can be daunting trying to figure out what your boyfriend would like for Valentine’s Day. Just remember that this day is about celebrating your love, and not the materialistic things. I hope these tips inspired you to be creative and express your love. Happy V-day everyone!
