Being in college can be one of the best times of your life. However, it can also be one of the most stressful times. There are assignments that you need to do, deadlines you have to meet, activities you need to be a part of, and so much more. All of these things can pile up, and cause someone to feel completely overwhelmed. Because of this, I have developed a self-care routine that has helped me so much in taking better care of myself, and my well-being. These five products I have chosen can help you show yourself love and help you decompress from the stressors of everyday life.

Ice Roller

One of my favorite parts of my morning routine is using an ice roller. You put the roller in the freezer overnight, and in the morning you pull it out and roll it on your face. It helps me wake up, it depuffs, and it can help alleviate some beginning-of-the-day anxiety. I got mine from Rite Aid, but you can get one from Amazon, Target, and more.

Eye Patches

Another important part of my morning routine is using my eye patches. I am not talking about the ones you picture a pirate wearing, but the ones that you put under your eyes. I like to keep mine in the freezer, with my ice roller, so that they are nice and cold when I put them on in the morning. You can get patches that do all different kinds of things. Some help to alleviate darkness, some work to tighten skin, and others are for depuffing. I use the brand Pixi’s eye patches, but you pick whichever one works best for you.

Scalp Massager

This one may seem a little weird, but it is so relaxing. You can get a scalp massager from pretty much any drugstore. You can use them dry, or use them in the shower to scrub in your shampoo. They help your hair in many different ways, such as helping add new growth and getting rid of product build-up, but I like it best for the massage it gives me. I use mine dry and scrub in a little rosemary oil with it. It is amazing!

Oil Diffuser

Another self-care item that I have recently added to my life is an oil diffuser. I like to turn it on while I am getting ready in the morning, while I am doing homework, or just hanging out in my room. My favorite blends to get are calming ones, with scents like lavender or chamomile. The smell is so relaxing and even just having the quiet hum and steam of the diffuser going helps to calm me down and center myself.

Heating Pad

A heating pad is something that I wish I would have started using sooner. I would usually just use one when I was having pain, but recently I have started using it every night, and it is life-changing. If you are someone who has anxiety, or struggles to calm down at the end of the night, using a heating pad before bed has helped me so much with these things. It is like a little warm hug at the end of each day.

Adding these simple products to my daily routines has helped me show myself love, helped me calm down at the end of a stressful day, and helped me to better manage my college commitments. These products are just one little piece of self-care, but they can make a big difference in your everyday life. So, I hope that if you are feeling overwhelmed by the stressors of your life, you can find little self-care products and routines to add into your daily schedule.
