Before college, I never listened to podcasts at all. I didn’t understand the hype or craze about finding a treasure of a good podcast until I began finding some myself. Podcasts are a perfect way to pass time and listen to interesting conversations when going for a walk, when you’re on a long drive, or for simply passing the time. Here are my top four favorite podcasts that I listen to on a daily basis.

  1. The Wooden Spoon

For anyone who loves tips on productivity, studying, success, and so much more, these four StudyTubers have created a podcast for all of those things. Listening to these young and empowering voices has given me so much guidance and wisdom on how to better live my college life. From tips on how to deal with rejection, perfection, and burnout, this podcast deals with so many prominent topics in students’ lives and offers many different tips and perspectives on navigating the world and the many situations and feelings people encounter.

  1. Dear Hank and John by John Green and Hank Green

I originally started listening to Hank and John Green’s podcast on a really long road trip with my partner. From the very first episode all the way to now, these brothers have never failed to make me laugh, cry, ponder about life, and so much more. Each episode is essentially an extended Q&A, where Hank and John answer curious and creative questions from viewers. They touch upon a broad range of topics, from space, parallel universes, potatoes, books, movies, celebrities, and so, so much more. It is definitely worth listening to!

  1. Up First by NPR

For someone who has always wanted news delivered to me in an easy, accessible way, this podcast is my favorite for exactly that. Each morning while eating my breakfast, I listen to this podcast to stay up-to-date with the world and the many events happening in it. NPR comes out with a new episode each day that is generally only 13-15 minutes long and gives you a quick update about major world events. NPR tends to bring on special guests or interview different people during the podcast, so the actual podcast itself isn’t just people delivering news to you, but also includes snippets of interviews with different people.

  1. Growing With the Flow by Nayna Florence

Nayna is a bucket of sunshine and her podcast is one of the highlights of my day every time a new episode comes out. Not only is this podcast comforting and soothing, but she talks about transitioning into adulthood, navigating life and the many challenges it comes with, and most of all, how stepping into unknown territory is not a task that one has to deal with alone. Nayna covers topics such as relationships, hardships, jobs, setting goals, habits, and much more. More than anything, Nayna feels like the big sister I always wish I had, and each episode feels like talking to a warm friend.

While life can be crazy, hectic, and challenging, podcasts have definitely helped me navigate it way better than I ever thought I could. I hope these recommendations help you in doing the same, even if it’s one small episode at a time. :)
