Summer is here, and whether you are preparing for road trips, pool parties, international travel, or summer classes, you need some great books to read while you’re sitting in the plane or car, laying by the pool, or just relaxing on the couch. Add these five books on your list! They’re funny, heartfelt, and adventurous.

1.      Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

This is the first book in an ongoing series. McGuire’s classically romantic storyline surpasses expectations. Written for a more mature audience, it defines sex and love in completely new ways.

2.      The Lecturer’s Tale by James Hynes

This novel is all about the power of manipulation. It’s the perfect blend of  mythology and fantastical abilities.

3.      Is Everyone Hanging Out without Me? by Mindy Kaling

This quirky modern novel is written by a well-known comedian who uses her personal experiences to shed light on romance, friendship, and Hollywood. Sometimes it’s nice to get advice from someone whose been there.

4.       Roomies by Sara Zaar

The premise of this book hits home for a lot of college students.  How can polar opposite roommates learn to get along?

5.      Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

Attachments is about falling in love with someone who makes you the best version of yourself. It’s also about coming to terms with adulthood. This book is a typical romantic comedy, but it’ll still warm your heart and convince you that saying goodbye to your twenties isn’t so scary after all.

6.      The Her Campus Guide to College Life

Learn how to manage relationships, stay safe and healthy, handle stress, and have the best years of your life in college!
