5 Activities To Add to Your Fall Bucket List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

Leaves are falling, sweaters are back in style, and everything is pumpkin spice flavored. You all know what that means: we’ve officially entered the Fall season! The season of apple cider, pumpkin pie, jack-o-lanterns, and all things spooky. Here are some fun and festive ways to ring in this spooky season!

1. Apple Picking at Apple Hill

I admit this is a bit of a trek from Davis, but it’s so worth it. This place is an apple lover’s paradise. From freshly made apple cider to apple picking, this farm has it all!  And what could be more aesthetically pleasing than meandering in an orchard? Not to mention the massive pumpkin patch perfect for finding decorations and future Jack-o-lanterns! For the non-apple lovers out there (myself included), they have berry picking and countless berry pastries, so no matter what your fancy is, you’ll fit right in! With melt-in-your-mouth caramel apples, freshly baked treats, and breathtaking views, this place is a must-see this Fall Season!

2. Horseback Riding at Sugarland farms

Grab your flannel and cowboy boots because fall is the perfect time to cross horseback riding off your bucket list, and Woodland’s Sugarland Farms is a great place to start. The crisp Fall weather is ideal for experiencing beautiful trails and sunsets while feeling as free as can be. Whether you’re a first-time rider or a returning equestrian champion, they are open to all levels of expertise! With scenic views and seasonal rodeos, Sugarland Farms is an excellent site to get you into the Fall spirit!

3. Get Lost in “the World’s Longest Corn Maze”

Cool Patch Pumpkins in Dixon holds the Guinness World Record for the most extensive corn maze at approximately 60 acres! If you want a festive, fun challenge this fall, come take on this corn maze with a group of friends and spend an afternoon filled with laughter, corn, and confusion.

4. Stop by your local Trader Joe’s and pick up a Haunted House Cookie Kit!

Introducing… the gingerbread house of Halloween! Chocolatey, spooky goodness. This activity is a guaranteed fun time! Let your creativity run wild and use all your favorite candies to bring this Haunted House to life or build your own Hansel and Gretel creation! Perfect for decoration and consumption, this is practically a dessert dream come true.

5. Watch Nostalgic Halloween Movies

Take a trip down memory lane and binge your favorite nostalgic Halloween movies. In my very biased opinion, Scream and the Halloweentown movie series are a must-rewatch, but this is 100% up to you! Pick your poison (figuratively), cuddle up on the couch with your favorite snacks, light a pumpkin-scented candle, and lose yourself in Halloween nostalgia.

Fall is a beautiful season with nonstop fun and opportunities for adventure and adhering to the spooky yet comforting aesthetic. These are just a few ideas to kick off this season and get you into the Fall Spirit! Grab your pumpkin spice treat of choice and get started on completing your Fall bucket list! Have a wonderfully spooky season!
