I grew up in the San Fernando Valley (also called the valley for short). I considered it to be one of the most basic and most boring places (especially during high school). Most of what my friends and I could do was go to the mall and get food or go to the beach. Although to many it may have seemed fun to be from the valley, after a while you just got tired of it. But now that I am older, I’ve realized that being in the valley is cool for all those things I grew up doing.

Great Food

I personally think some of the best food is in the valley. There are various different types of foods in the valley which makes going out to eat fun. My go-to food places tend to be Kopan Ramen and Hawaiian Hot Chicken. Both these places are located at about a twenty-minute drive from where I live so it’s pretty convenient.

Beaches are Close

From where I live the beaches are about 20 minutes away at the most. I tend to drive to Topanga Beach, Malibu, and Santa Monica a lot because they are the closest to me. They all have different vibes because of what is located around them so depending on how I feel is where I tend to go.

Close to LA

LA is about a thirty-minute drive for me. I do not go as often as I’d like to just because during COVID-19  and I do not want to interact with that many people. Yet before COVID, I would try visiting every two weeks just because it has a cool vibe and is very aesthetic. One of my favorite places to go to was the Melrose Arts District because of all the street art present there. Most of the art is very beautiful where you can take a picture with it or just of it, and it would definitely end up creating something post-worthy.

Although now living in LA seems fun because I am seeing much more of it, growing up here was basic for me because after a while I would just always be bored. But now since going out is a little harder since I don’t want to interact with crowds, I get to take it in a little at a tie and fall in love with where I’m from all over again.
