Does your physical stress and fatigue creep up (literally) into becoming emotional breakdowns? Yeah same sis same. I figured out over time that we all handle stress differently and honestly there is no “right” way of handling it. Those evenings you’re back from your last class just to do your studying per subject and homework but your body cannot handle doing anything else but laying down and potentially napping. Then you wake up from that “10 minutes nap” …more like a 2 hour nap, STILL tired but you try to push through completing your assignments. While completing this assignment you go through the phase of wondering if college is really worth it and if honestly being a stripper wouldn’t be too bad. Few problems into your assignment, you take a quick cry-break and wonder what your future would look like and if you’ll ever achieve your goals and plans. YES you will. Here are some ways in handling situations where you are physically fatigue which is leading to your mental fatigue.

Music Music Music!!!

I cannot stress this enough. Music is my go to, I can literally go from having to the worse day to having an okay day through music. There have been several research to prove the effect of music and stress relief. Here is a quick short list of the types of music I personally listen to while im studying or working on my assignments

1. Boo’d Up – Ella Mai (Honestly ALL her songs) – YouTube Mix

2. Wanted – Kehlani (ALL her songs also) – YouTube Mix

3. Jhene Aiko – YouTube Mix

4. & Last but not least, we cannot forget Queen B ofcourse! Beyonce’s YouTube Mix

There are definitely many more, you just really have to go with who inspires you to be you. I find these women very inspiring because their lyrics are very relatable and they are very strong women in the music industry

Talk it out!

I personally go through personal dialogues, with me, myself and I. Those pep talks to yourself are required. Let yourself know how powerful you are, how you got this, how the future is bright, how today is a only test and you shall pass in flying colors and it will pay off in the future. If you have someone you vent to, go to them! We humans are wired to not be alone. As much as you have to love yourself enough to the point where you don’t need someone to survive mentally, we still need support of just gestures of love from another. Whoever you feel comfortable with, share your feelings with. Just talk it out!

Write it out!

Personal journals are great but if you are like me, I write down everything on my apple note which is on my phone. I just open the app and start writing it all out. This is an alternative to when you are overwhelmed and rather not speak to anyone

Cry it out

I am very prideful about my cry sections honestly. Sometimes this cry sections could be all you need so …

Sis Cry It Out!

Be inspired, sis!

Do not look back, one of the thing i find helpful is downloading inspiration quotes as my wallpaper both on my phone and laptop or just googling them. Sometimes you just need that reassurance. HerCampus actually offers FREE downloadable wallpapers for phones and laptop.

Remember that whatever life throws at you,

YOU GOT THIS SIS! & NEVER GIVE UP!
