Here are five essential items every curly-haired girl should have.

1. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is widely known as a remedy for getting rid of dandruff and scalp buildup.

Best way to use: Mix in a few drops with your shampoo, then apply and lather into hair.

2. Shea Moisture Strengthen and Restore Leave-In Conditioner

This conditioner works well to wash hair or use as a leave-in conditioner.  It contains apple cider vinegar to help clarify your hair and scalp, leaving hair feeling smooth and soft.

Best way to use: After your hair has been washed. When you get out of the shower, apply evenly in hair before other products.

3. Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

This product works well alone or paired with conditioner.  It gives curls a light hold and definition while keeping your hair moisturized and hydrated.

Best way to use:  After hair has been washed, apply evenly and let air dry.

4. DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel

The DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel gives hair a stronger hold for more definition and strength.

Best way to use:  Apply leave in conditioner, then curl cream, then gel.  Let air dry or diffuse with cold air.

5. Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker

Like the DevaCurl gel, Camille Rose gives definition and hold to hair.  This gel has a thicker and stickier consistency than DevaCurl and works well for coarser, curlier hair.

All products listed here do not contain any sulfates or parabens, two harmful ingredients that are commonly found in everyday hair products.  They can cause buildup and cause hair to be dry and weighed down.
