Hello everyone,

Even if it does not look like (at least in London), we are getting close to Springtime.  As I am assuming many of you are in the middle of exams session, with deadlines and essay due soon. I want to remind everyone out there that staying healthy (body and mind) is the best way to face exams and deadlines and to fight the seasonal flu.

I am proposing free events around London for April!

1. The London Yoga Meetup

Free yoga in London. We’re a group of yoga enthusiasts, from beginner to advanced, who get together to deepen our practice. Meetups are not necessarily classes. There is a strong emphasis on feeling home in your own body. We aim to practice with awareness and compassion

2. The Sessions at the Space 3FA – Mobility and Functional Fitness

From April, FITWORKS invite you to come along and learn about your body and how to use it and move it with a series of exercise classes that specialise in connecting you with your breathing, improving your mobility and flexibility, and strengthening your musculoskeletal system with functional movements training

3. Free yoga class to relax and unwind

These sessions are an hour-long yoga class will be run by Sarah Hunt, a qualified yoga teacher and holistic nutritionist, based in central London. Her students have described her style as yoga dance.

4. Yoga For Peace at the Isha Yoga Centre

The Isha Foundation is a UK based charity, founded by Sadhguru that aims to create an inclusive culture towards human wellbeing and progress. It is Sadhguru’s vision to offer one drop of spirituality to every human being; to ensure that each individual can experience the deepest core of life within. In light of this vision, we are now offering 5000 sessions throughout Europe each year. The free yoga workshops are easy-to-practice, holistic sessions to enhance health, joy, peace, love, success, inner exploration and one’s overall vitality. They are tailor-made tools to help cope with the hectic pace of modern life.

6. Free Tai Chi in London Fields

Learning authentic Tai Chi can be expensive. Master Simon Wong has been teaching for 35 years and wants to make it accessible to everyone. From his long experience, he knows how good Tai Chi is and understands its benefits to society. Yellow Dragon Tai Chi invites you to join our class, every Saturday at 2 pm. We meet under the tree close to London Fields Lido, E8 3EU, 10 minutes before. Don’t be late! Everyone is welcome regardless of age, experience or physical ability. No special clothing or equipment is necessary. To help support our efforts, a donation of £5 is suggested (but not compulsory).

7. Tango Class at UCL Institute of Education (UCL students only sorry!)

My approach to learning Argentinian Tango is that I focus on helping my students to understand how to make the step. We work together to increase our body awareness through different exercises so the steps become easy to make. Every class will bring new insights and experiences. Enjoyment is also a big part of it! So if you haven’t tried my class yet – please come along and experience it!

I feel incredibly proud and privileged to be part of the first-ever Her Campus Community Correspondent team as Senior Editor at UCL as a Global Governance and Ethics master student. My decision to be part of this team arises from my work and academic experiences with vulnerable individuals and, in particular, with women. My interests and aims are particularly focused on spreading awareness and educating about global issues, such as human rights and social (in)justice, and the role of women in these matters.
Peaches was the first ever Her Campus Community Correspondent at the University College London Chapter. She became involved in Her Campus as she is passionate about the empowerment of women as well as raising awareness of the inequalities and prejudices women face in their day to day lives.
