After a long and tiring semester, winter break gave me the space I needed to relax and recharge. I spent much of my time cuddling in a cozy blanket on the couch, munching on snacks, and watching various shows. These are the three most memorable shows I watched this past month:

1. Money Heist

“Money Heist” is a Spanish thriller drama about a criminal mastermind who selects eight robbers to help him pull off the biggest heist in history: printing billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. This drama is packed with suspense, plot twists and mind games. Despite being five seasons long, I was able to finish this drama within a week because it was so fast-paced and suspenseful.

2. New Girl

“New Girl” was the perfect show for me to re-watch over the winter break. This sitcom features awkward but cheerful Jess and her interactions with her three roommates. Apart from each character being hilarious and unique, together they form a perfect ensemble whose friendship is heartwarming and comforting. It’s a laugh-out-loud kind of show while also touching upon meaningful themes in life.

3. Emily in Paris

Despite disliking Emily’s character in the first season, I ended up watching the second season of “Emily in Paris,” if only to see what kind of funny outfits she was wearing this time around. Although her choices in outfits hadn’t shown much improvement, the show was nonetheless undoubtedly still entertaining. It features Emily, an American marketing executive, who is hired to give an “American” perspective at a marketing firm in Paris. While unrealistic and predictable, the show manages to help you envision and romanticize a trip to Paris from the comfort of your own home.
