3 Simple Ways To Save Your Skin This Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UAB chapter.

Imagine you locking eyes with the cute guy who sits next to you in Psych 101 who you’ve been crushing on all semester long. You realize that it’s the perfect time for him to meet you and your subconscious is telling you “Hey! It’s now or never.” So you gather enough courage to start making your way over to him when you stop in front of a mirror to make sure that you look okay; And there you see it, DRY FLAKY SKIN! Just like we fall in love with this season’s lattes and tall UGG boots, we must revamp our skincare rotuine to avoid  potentially dry and irritated skin. Have no fear my dear, Weam is to the rescue! Ladies, here are a few things that will not only help you achieve flawless skin this season, but also to help you get that cute guy’s number!

The Consumption of H20

Yes, this might sound repetitious, but everyone’s body requires around eight cups of water per day. The human’s body is roughly made up of 70% water. When it comes to your skincare, water is essential for hydrating your skin and keeping your pores clear!

Scrub Away

The majority of us use our hands to wash our faces. Although our face may appear to be squeaky clean, we’re always going to miss a few spots where our pores are not thoroughly clean. Using a facial brush is a great way to scrub away those stubborn dirt particles that are stuck in your pores. Good news for those who are looking for another alternative, a brush isn’t the only  way to exfoliate! You can also use a facial scrub with a grainy like texture. In both cases, you’ll ensure that your face is free from the unwanted dead skin!

Last but not least, Hydration, Hydration, Hydration

Adding creams and lotions is another way to hydrate your skin externally, in contrast to water intake. After exfoliation, your skin is in desperate need of hydration due to its loss of oils that were produced by the skin. Not adding a moisturizer after exfoliation will leave your skin dry and can even cause tightness around the skin, so adding a cream or a moisturizer is a great way to avoid flakiness and dry patches.
