Recently, Hulu has been my only streaming platform, so I’ve come to appreciate all that it has to offer. I feel like it is the dark horse of streaming services. Here are some great TV shows on Hulu that deserve some appreciation:
1. Survivor
It doesn’t get any more classic than Survivor. It’s the longest-running reality TV show ever with 40 seasons. On the off chance you haven’t heard of it, It’s a game show where people are put into tribes and have to survive on an island and win challenges. Every week, someone gets “voted off the island.” It’s a huge strategic game to make it to the end and win the million dollars.
2. Normal People
You’ve probably been hearing about this show everywhere, but like everyone else, I recommend it. It’s set in Ireland and follows two young people with different backgrounds who have something magnetic between them that follows them through their lives. Be ready for drama!
3. The Bold Type
The Bold Type is about three women in New York City who work for a women’s magazine. It follows each of their lives and loves. This show covers so many important topics that there’s something for everyone. I love that they try to normalize taboo topics.
4. My Mad Fat Diary
This one is a bit niche, but this show was pivotal to my adolescence. It’s a British teen drama that follows Rae as she comes out of a psychiatric hospital and returns to her life. It’s set in the 90s, which is a huge bonus and the love interest is dreamy. This show has that classic British cynical humor that I love.
5. Shrill
This show follows an aspiring journalist played by the incredible Aidy Bryant. She is fed up with people treating her differently because of her body shape and learns to stand up for herself and go after what she wants. This show is hilarious!
