Fall Fashion Trends you Need in your Closet

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, I’m not talking about Christmas (although, that truly is the most wonderful time of the year), but I’m talking about FALL! Fall brings some sort of solace into my hectic student life. The air suddenly becomes crisper; I no longer profusely sweat running through campus to get to my next class, the leaves become vibrant and, most importantly, sweaters, scarfs and boots are back baby! This fall I’ve noticed some familiar trends coming back in stores, as well as some not so familiar and unconventional trends that seem to be sticking around for the colder seasons. Collegiates, if you’re wondering how to dress this fall, then look no further because these are hottest trends in fall fashion this year:

Off the Shoulder Tops

Remember all those off the shoulder tops you bought during the summer that you were sad to store away, don’t worry because the fall of 2016 is proving to be the season for off the shoulder tops!  Everywhere from one-shoulder tops, off the shoulder dresses and sweaters, this is one trend I’m not willing to give up.

 Turtle Necks

My absolute favourite part about fall is the return or sweatshirts, hoodies and all things that keep you warm from neck down. Crop top turtle necks have seem to have taken over retail stores this fall and I am 100% okay with that.

 High Waisted Mini Skirts

What’s the perfect way to pair a crop top turtleneck: the perfect button down high waisted mini skirt. A-line skirts have been really trendy this fall.

 Thigh High Boots

The best accessory for your perfect new fall outfits are thigh high boots. Paired with a short-medium length skirt or a long wool sweater-dress, thigh boots can take any outfit from looking boring and casual to hot and sophisticated in seconds.

 Shades of Beige

One good thing about summer being over and the colder seasons returning is bringing back neutral and darker colours. I’m talking about blacks, whites, greys and most important different shades of beige. I love anything from off-white, taupes, and browns. Move over fifty shades of grey and hello fifty shades of beige because my closet is ready for your takeover.

 Dusty Pink and Mustard Yellow

Two unconventional colours taking over fall fashion trends this year are dusty pink and mustard yellow. You would think pinks and yellows belong in spring and summer, but the fall of 2016 is proving to break tradition and I’m absolutely loving it. As someone who tends to wear more dark and neutral colours, I thought I would never find myself wearing anything pink, let alone yellow. But these shades look so cute under beige jackets and compliment many skin tones.

Shearling Coats

Bomber jackets were all the hype this past year and still continue to take over retail stores, but with the colder seasons approaching, shearling bombers and coats are becoming more trendy. It kind of looks like something your uncle would wear to try to be “hip-and-cool”, which he would definitely get right because these jackets are the bomb.com and shearling material is super trendy at the moment.
