Solve Your Housing Problems With Student Housing Services

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Toronto chapter.

As the school year is coming to an end, many of us may be thinking about our return next fall or maybe even considering summer school. Whether you live on residence or commute, the thought of where you want to live next year may be on your mind. This could mean moving out of your residence or home and opting for a place closer to school. With many options and no prior experience this can be a grueling task, especially when everyone is extremely busy this time of year. Luckily, our school offers a great service to help us with this problem!

The first step you can take to answer any of your questions about living on or off campus next year begins at the U of T Student Housing Services located at 214 College St., right next to the bookstore. If you are looking for a place located off campus, the Housing Service website has a program that lets you choose from a variety of options based on price, distance, and the numbers of current vacancies. They will also help you with asking the necessary questions that are often forgotten of not even realized by students who are renting for the first time. Or if you are looking to sublet your place for the summer, the people there can help you post your listing and talk about issues such as security deposits and showings.

If you are looking into getting a place but are having trouble finding roommates, then no worries! The site also has an application called the roommate finder where you can compare your interests and needs with that of other students. The program is easy to use and lets you interact with your peers who may be looking for the same qualities as you are in a roommate.

You can even research student residences on the website and look at what each one has to offer and the price ranges. Even if you need to find storage for your things, Student Housing Services can aid you by referring you to cheap storage places. From long term to short term housing needs, they will teach you about it all.

With the help of the U of T Student Housing Services the stress of moving can be solved, so that you can stay concentrated on your exams!

Natalie has recently completed her second year at the University of Toronto with a double major in History and Ethics, Society, and Law. She is excited to bring Her Campus to U of T and seeing it expand its presence in Canada. She is also active in the school's Model United Nations circles and numerous organizations off campus and is best described as a political and pop culture junkie. Born and raised in Toronto, she is blindingly proud of everything the city has to offer including the best school in the country, no matter what Macleans says, and its sports teams, no matter how many times they may lose or miss the playoffs.
