Kissable Lips for Valentine’s Day!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Toronto chapter.

In these brutal Toronto winters, chapped dry lips are almost inevitable. And with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, you must make sure your lips are luscious! Here are a few quick and inexpensive tricks to guarantee kissable lips for Valentine’s Day. And keep reading to discover your new favorite lip balms!

Sweet Scrub
Mix equal portions of brown sugar and honey in a small bowl (approximately a teaspoon each). The consistency should be of thick paste. Wash your face with warm water so that the dead skin will come off easier, and proceed to scoop the scrub on a finger and gently rub it onto your lips in circular motions. Thoroughly scrub your lips for about 2 minutes and rinse. The brown sugar will exfoliate your lips so that all the dry, dead skin can be removed. The honey will moisturize and hydrate your puckers to ensure that they won’t dry out again. Dab your face with a towel and apply lip balm. (You can use this scrub all over your face and body as well!)

Brush it Off!
After you finish brushing your teeth, take another toothbrush (preferably with soft bristles) and apply Vaseline on it. Proceed to gently brush your lips in a circular fashion for about 2 minutes. Rinse your lips and dry them. Again, apply lip balm.

Shower Power
After taking a hot shower, and your skin is nice and steamy, take the corner of your towel and wipe your lips. The steam from the shower will have saturated your lips with moisture and will allow the dead skin to fall right off. Of course, apply lip balm!
