Billy Cheung ’13

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Ottawa chapter.

Name: Billy Cheung
Year: 4th
Program: Specialization in Economics
Relationship status: Already found a “cutie”

What activities are you involved
with on campus? I’m an executive member of the ESA (Economics Student Association), a member of a French discussion group and a member of the Investment Club (we discuss the stock market and new ventures)

What qualities do you look for in a significant other? I’m really not that hard to please when it comes to women. There are however certain key qualities she must possess for her to maintain my interest. I definitely look for someone with beautiful eyes and a great laugh is also a must: there is nothing hotter than a girl who can laugh at herself and still carry an air of confidence! Often, I find sexiness is not a game of looks but a game of psychology. I want a girl who cares about the image she projects onto the world. Aside from that, I want a girl who knows what she wants in life and has a solid
plan set out to achieve it.

What turns you off? A girl who smokes and is rude turns me off. There is nothing more unattractive than a girl who does not care about her own state of health and who is inconsiderate of the feelings of others.

Who inspires you? The 32nd President of the US; Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He undertook historic changes for the benefit of his country (and the world at large) amidst extreme opposition from popular opinion at the time.

What are the top three things you want to achieve before you’re thirty?
I want to finally graduate and be out of school for good. I would also hope to be fluent in 5 languages: English, French, Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin. I also hope to have traveled extensively in all the continents.

What will you miss most about Ottawa U when you graduate? Hmm… I will probably miss being young and being able to get away with irresponsible actions. I had a great time here in Ottawa and I have grown up tremendously since the day I arrived. The process of self-discovery and realizing who you are has been a most interesting journey. I will definitely miss the undergraduate student lifestyle (aka partying on weeknights!).

What will you miss the least? Having a prof wake you up in the middle of a lecture.

Confession: I may love money, but I am secretly a huge romantic. I love taking girls out and making them feel special by doing extremely cheesy stuff.
