Who Will Be the Best Michigan Football Team This Year?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

While being at the University of Michigan, the Ohio State vs. UMICH game is not the only anticipated game of the football season. The UMICH vs. Michigan State game has been the talk of the week as the Wolverines hope to win against the Spartans on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

As a freshman from Northern New Jersey, I didn’t know much about the “rivalry” between Michigan State and UMICH until I came to this school. There has been a lot of anticipation about who is going to take the win and be the superior Michigan football team. While the University of Michigan has had an undefeated season so far, there is still a chance that Michigan State can take the win from us. Over the past couple of years, the University of Michigan and Michigan State have traded wins against each other. Last year, in the 2022 season, it was UMICH who took home the victory with a 7-29 score. The year before in 2021, it was Michigan State who became the superior Michigan school with their 37-33 score, so is it anyone’s game this season?

This year, the University of Michigan football team has never looked better, with J.J. McCarthy throwing more than 1,500 yards just this season. Blake Corum is also helping our team out this year, with 12 touchdowns this season, and more to come soon! However, Michigan State has seen some success with their quarterback, Noah Kim. With over 1,000 yards this season and 6 touchdowns, he is ready to take on the University of Michigan and become the best Michigan football team.

Both teams are ready to face each other, but which one is going to come out on top? You’ll just have to tune in and find out!

As for my predictions on who’s winning this game on Saturday…GO BLUE!!!
