So now that we’re all knee-deep in homework and countless other stressors, it’s probably safe to say that online distractions are not only encouraged, but perhaps even necessary for basic preservation of sanity. While there’s nothing that will completely fix the massive pile of work you’re staring at, this internet nugget can at least offer a few laughs and a little nostalgia.
“I’m Remembering” (check it out by clicking here) is probably one of the best Tumblr blogs I’ve come across in my time wasting my life online. Essentially, it’s a collection of pictures of stuff that people have saved from their childhood in the 80s and 90s. For someone who grew up in either of these decades, the blog is bound to cause more than a few “OMG THAT WAS MY FAVORITE OMG OMG” moments, if not make you feel like you wish more than anything that you were 8 years old again. Among the many awesome posts, you’ll find pictures of super legit throwback birthday cakes, the best toys ever invented (Gak! Care Bears! Transformers!), your favorite after-school snacks, and the best TV shows of all time.
This particular Tumblr blog is also fantastic for yet another reason: there are rarely any blocks of texts for you to read along with the photos. Honestly, at the end of the day, no one is really looking to read anything more than they absolutely have to. After spending all night with your face shoved in a textbook, the best medicine is a little brain-emulsifying photo junk – and “I’m Remembering” is a great place to find it.
