5 Things to Do Now that Ann Arbor is No Longer an Arctic Tundra

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mich chapter.

This year’s winter in Ann Arbor is coming to a close and signs are everywhere that the seasons are changing. Here are some fun ideas of things to do to enjoy the sunshine!

1. Go for a run (or a walk) in the Arb

Whether you’re going on a long run (a little ambitious) or going for a stroll with some friends (that’s more like it), these beautiful days are the perfect opportunity to explore the Arb and enjoy the nature!

2. People watch on South U or State Street

Take a seat outside the Espresso/Starbucks/any of Ann Arbor’s many coffee shops on South U or State Street and just soak up the sun. Whether you’re watching students go to and from class, or observing the “real people” of Ann Arbor in action, people watching is always a fun way to pass the time.

3. Do school work in the Diag

Now that the weather is nice, activities on the Diag will come back in full force. Take a seat with your computer on one of the benches outside Hatcher for a change of scenery from the third floor of the UGLi.

4. Grab an Eno Hammock

Find one of the many suitable spots on campus and set up an eno hammock with some friends for an afternoon of relaxation and maybe even tanning (again, a little ambitious).

5. Check out Blank Slate creamery

The change in seasons also means a change in hot spot for the best food. Head to this yummy spot to cool off (or just to get some good ice cream)!
