The TV Series I Have Been Watching Recently as a Serial Binger

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

You know what they say, admittance is the first step. I am a serial binger. It is a problem, especially when I have a lot of homework or other things to do and can literally not focus on anything except the show I am watching at the time. I am the first person my friends and family go to for show recommendations. While I physically cannot rank my favorite shows (because there are literally too many), I can give you some recommendations of what I have been watching lately.

Good Girls

Good Girls is a show I just happened to stumble upon. You can watch it on Netflix. It is a drama show about a group of normal suburban moms who have grown up together. They are met with tough times and are forced to begin to do risky things in order to support their families and each other. This show will keep you guessing and wanting more. It is four seasons and is a great watch.

Working Moms

Working Moms is a seven-season sitcom that will literally make you laugh till your stomach hurts. I did not think that I would like this show because the title is very deceiving. However, this is the perfect show if you are looking for something light and funny that is somewhat mindless. You will also fall in love with the characters and get emotionally invested.

Night Agent

This is a newer Netflix original show. My sister and mom both told me to watch this show and I did not listen because I am usually not into shows like these. But I am glad that I ended up giving the first episode a try because I was completely invested after 15 minutes. The only complaint that I have about this show is that it is literally just too short. There is only one season with 10 episodes. However, they are coming out with a second season. In Night Agent, a bottom-of-the-totem-pole FBI agent answers a phone in a deadly situation, while dealing with this situation it becomes apparent that there is a traitor among the FBI unit.

Young and Hungry

This is definitely a rewatch (and not the first time rewatching) for me. But this show never disappoints me. This romantic sitcom really is a feel-good show. It will make you laugh, cry, be angry, and leave you on the edge of your seat. It has five seasons and I really, really wish there were more. Young and Hungry is a TV show about a young chef who works for a young and very rich man. On the first night she works, they have a few too many glasses of wine and one thing leads to another… and you’ll have to watch the rest.

There are so many amazing shows to watch right now, but these are just the ones that I have been watching for the past few weeks. With finals season coming up, this is a super busy time for most people, but remember to give yourself time to sit back and put on a show you love.
