Sigma Kappa 6th Annual Sigma Stacks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Come one, come all!

Sigma Kappa Sorority is having their 6th Annual Sigma Stacks philanthropy event tomorrow, Tuesday March 4th! The all-you-can-eat pancake extravaganza costs only $5 and all proceeds go to the Ultra Violet Campaign. The Ultra Violet Campaign supports Sigma Kappa’s philanthropic initiatives, which includes the Alzheimer’s Association, research towards gerontology, the Maine Seacoast Mission and Sisters in Need. The event will be at the Newman Café from 6PM to 10PM. There will be an abundance of toppings and pancakes to go around!

This year, Sigma Kappa is changing it up with a guest appearance from the renowned Wicked Pitch acapella group. There will also be an all-you-can-eat contest for an additional $2, so for $7 you will be all signed up for a chance to win a gift card to the UStore! So get ready to O.D. on pancakes and have an amazing time with the sisters of Sigma Kappa!

(Note: March 4th is National Pancake Day so what better way to celebrate than to indulge in the all you can eat fun?!)

Sarah Freudson

U Mass Amherst

Hey everyone! My name is Sarah Freudson and I'm a junior studying Legal Studies and Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at Umass Amherst! I am a sister of Sigma Kappa Sorority and am very passionate about philanthropy. I volunteer my time as an art assistant, spending time with the elderly and visiting the sick at hospitals. My one goal in life is to visit as many countries as possible.  I am Ukrainian and I go back to the homeland to visit family as much as I can!The most significant thing about me is my idolization of F. Scott Fitzgerald. His quote: "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had," literally dictates my life. It shows the importance of volunteering along with the realization of how lucky we all are for our given circumstances.  I'm the type of girl that looks at the glass half full, thats for sure!!
