Love on YouTube: Amazing Proposal Videos

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Whenever I need a break from studying, or a really good excuse to cry – watching YouTube Marriage Proposal Videos (MPV) are number one on my list of favorite things to do. Although this phenomenon is fairly new, it has brought so many great feelings to its viewers. So sit back, relax, and get some kleenex ready, here are 5 of the most viewed MPVs on YouTube willing to tug at your heartstrings!

1.The Couple: Jamin & Val. The Location: Downtown Disney. Views on YouTube: Over 9 million.

Jamin choreographs his own “mini flash mob” routine to propose. This is the first ever marriage proposal that I watched on YouTube, and the ultimate reason for my current addiction.

2. The Couple: Matt & Ginny. The Location: Movie Theater. Views on YouTube: Over 28 million.

Ever gone to the movies and heard a familiar voice in the previews? This couple and their story went completely viral, landing them various appearances such as The Ellen Degeneres Show.

3. The Couple: Trang & Nam. The Location: UCLA. Views on YouTube: Over 3 million.

College sweethearts take a casual stop by their alma mater for the best surprise ever. With help from Flash Mobs of America, he wins her over for sure.

4. The Couple: Jon & Emily. The Location: Airport. Views on YouTube: Over 1 million.

Now, everyone is obsessed with videos of men in the military coming back home for the first time since deployment, right? Well, there’s no time wasted during this stay.

5. The Couple: Jamie & Nikki. The Location: Federation Square, Melbourne. Views on YouTube: Over 1 million.

Jamie makes a music video to propose to his girlfriend. Pretty clever, huh? These two are already well known on YouTube, sharing a channel together and reaching a multitude of platforms.

As if proposing isn’t hard enough, sharing one of the happiest moments of your life with the WORLD takes a lot of guts. Through these great videos we get to laugh, cry, smile, and witness love – which could lead to sending the ocassional “random idea” text messages to our boyfriends. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with finding joy through someone else’s happiness – so watch on and happy ‘tubing Collegiettes!
