Like it, love it, gotta have it: Headhunter War Paint

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

So you’re packing for your ultimate spring break destination – all of your new bathing suits, party dresses, and sandals – when your mom yells in, “don’t forget the sunscreen!” While you roll your eyes and think that all you want to do is get burnt to a crisp so you head back to school with some color, your mom does have a point.

If you’re heading to a tropical island skin protection is absolutely essential. Trust me, I’ve done the whole 8SPF…with oil and the results were not pleasant. I got sun blisters (woof!) and had to sit in the shade the next few days. That one mistake has led to years of white sun spots whenever I get too tan. Does this sound like something you want to experience? I think not.

While the standard SPF is definitely necessary (Panama Jack is a GREAT brand) it is also important to keep your kissers protected. Lots of chapsticks have built in protection, but they wash off when you dive in those beautiful blue waters, requiring lots of reapplication that you’ll most likely forget to do.

So after my sun poisoning escapades I went to my local surfshop to look for some heavy duty protection and came across Headhunter War Paint. It’s ultra-waterproof 30 SPF and literally the best thing that’s ever happened to me. At an affordable price of $8, this is a must-have for everyone’s getaway.

This stuff stays on like no other. It comes in pink or white. I prefer pink because, as many of my friends know, I’m obsessed with having pale lips so, when used lightly, Headhunter works as a perfect lip gloss at night. I’ve never gotten sun blisters using the war paint. If your nose and shoulders are especially sensitive Headhunter can be applied there for all-day protection.

Be sun smart and get Headhunter before you fly away to your tropical paradise!
