A GIF Story: Life Lessons from The Walking Dead

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

If you haven’t watched, you might think The Walking Dead is your typical show about zombies. But despite its cliché basis, this show is relatable and teaches us lessons that apply to our daily lives – making us slightly less terrified of a zombie apocalypse! Just remember that…

Men will always be unreliable…

and will always (even in an apocalypse) be horny…

and will always (even in an apocalypse) be terrified by girls who share a cycle…

but that doesn’t mean they don’t love us.

Be okay, because you gotta be.

It’s okay to throw a fit sometimes…

but always make time to celebrate.

Help people when you can…

but know when to walk away.

Always stand up for yourself.

Trust no one.

Family > everything

Cherish life…

because

I’m convinced Hershel is the Mr. Feeny of The Walking Dead. So much wisdom…

Dale was pretty smart, too.

But if I’m ever in a zombie apocalypse, I want Michonne on my side.

Also, I really miss Shane.

Not a life lesson, but I just miss him so much.

Who knew we could learn so much from a TV show about zombies? At least now we don’t have to feel bad cutting out an hour of our Sunday night study sesh to watch!
