Along with the chilly weather and the abundance of pumpkin-flavored everything, the summer-to-fall transition brings about many changes in my lifestyle. To start off the season looking stylish and feeling healthy, here are five items I encourage every college woman to buy in preparation for fall.

Zip-Up Hoodie

Whether I am going to class or chilling in my dorm room, I probably spend 95% of my time wearing a zip-up hoodie. Pairing it with a crop top and leggings gives me a cute but comfortable look, and it’s easy to take off if I get hot on my walks to class. I suggest starting off with the basics — black and white — but I also enjoy wearing my royal blue one if I want to add a pop of color to my outfit.

Ginger Tea

As a huge tea drinker, I crave a warm cup of tea every morning and every night. It may not be the most popular flavor, but my favorite type of tea is ginger. Something about the spicy but delicious flavor of the ginger makes me feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and simply at home. Ginger tea also comes with several health benefits such as relieving nausea, regulating blood sugar levels, and boosting the immune system. My favorite ginger tea brand is Yogi Tea, which can be found at most grocery stores or Target.

Leather Pants

As seen all over TikTok and other social media platforms, leather pants are the new jeans. I just bought my first pair a few weeks ago, and they are already an essential in my wardrobe. Many different clothing stores, such as Zara and Forever 21, sell leather pants in a variety of styles, and at a variety of prices. Leather pants are a must-have this season, as they turn any outfit from simple to stylish.

Oatmeal

For a quick and easy breakfast, oatmeal is the best way to start off a chilly fall morning. Not only is it healthy and delicious, but it keeps me full until lunchtime after my classes. Out of convenience, I tend to buy the pack with individual bags of microwave oatmeal so that I can easily make it in my dorm room. My favorite type right now is the low sugar Quaker instant oatmeal, especially the maple and brown sugar flavor.

Chelsea Boots

Every college woman needs a good pair of boots to go with every outfit, and in my opinion, the most versatile style is Chelsea boots. You can wear them any time of year, but they are perfect for the cold weather of the fall season. Pair Chelsea boots with any jeans, leggings, or even a dress or skirt to achieve a fashionable yet understated look. I highly recommend the pair I have — black Doc Martens Chelsea boots — which you can buy from most department stores or shoe sites.

Balancing your schoolwork, social life, and mental as well as physical health can always be tough in college, so it is important to focus on being your best self. To help you look great and feel even better, these five essentials will have you ready to take on the fall season in no time.
