All the Single Ladies!: The Singles Playlist for Valentine’s Day 2014

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

Alright, Collegiettes! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re single, then you know what that means – sulking, crying, curling up in a ball with your laptop, streaming endless episodes of Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix and eating an entire pint of Chunky Monkey by yourself. Right?

Wrong! A lot of girls don’t realize it, but being single can be a blessing! You’re young, beautiful, and commitment-free. You can do whatever you want! So, if your plans for this Valentine’s Day were to sit around and think about how awful it is to be single, try this instead: pick up the phone, invite over some of your best girlfriends, and turn up the radio, because I am about to give you a list of ten of the best songs for you and your friends to rock out to this Valentine’s Day.

1. Single Ladies – Beyonce

An absolute classic, this song is sure to remind you of just how sweet it is to be single.

2. Part of Me – Katy Perry

In this song, Katy Perry makes sure that everyone knows that she will not change herself for anyone, especially not for a man.

3. All That Matters (The Beautiful Life) – Ke$ha

As per usual Ke$ha style, this song will definitely get you and your friends off the couch and on your feet.

4. Something That We’re Not – Demi Lovato

Demi will remind you that not every crush has to turn into a serious romance. Sometimes girls just want to have fun!

 5. Let Go – RAC, Kele, MNDR

This song has an excellent vibe to it. It will encourage you to let go of any worries that are currently weighing you down.

6. (I’ve Just Begun) Having My Fun – Britney Spears

I wouldn’t dare make a playlist without any Britney. In this song, our pop princess lets us know that it’s okay to let go, get a little crazy, and just have a good time.

7. Miss Movin’ On – Fifth Harmony

These five ladies are the definition of girl power. This is a great song to listen to if you’ve just broken up with someone, or even if you’re just looking for some great music!

8. Ladylike – Marisa Lauren

Who says girls always have to be so well-mannered? Marisa Lauren isn’t one for trying to impress people, and is certainly not one for trying to impress a man. She’s all about trying to make herself happy, and this Valentine’s Day, you should follow her example!

9. Live for the Night – Krewella

Krewella is known for their amazing dance music, and in my opinion, this is one of their best songs. It’s a party starter for sure!

10. She Don’t Wanna Man – Asher Roth & Keri Hilson

In this song, Keri makes it clear that she didn’t come to the club looking for manShe came to dance, and dancing with her friends was all she needed to have a good time.

And there you have it, my Valentine’s Day Singles Playlist for 2014! If you download these songs and share them with your friends, you’ll be sure to have a great time this Valentine’s Day.
