It’s the holiday season! Now is the time to plan gift ideas for your favorite dude who may be hard to shop for.
1. UMass Happy Feet slippers
My best friend gave these to me for Hanukkah last winter and my boyfriend always said he would steal them. They are comfy, fun, and perfect for wearing around the house or dorm while repping UMass pride.
2. Watch
Even if he already has one, a guy can never have too many watches. From silver, to gold, to one with a leather band, all styles can be worn for different occasions.
3. Concert Tickets / Sports Tickets
Even though something physical is nice as a keepsake, experiences create memories that last a lifetime. Surprise your guy with concert tickets to see his favorite band or his hometown sports team.
4. UMass Apparel
UMass apparel can be pricey, so it’s not something people buy on a normal basis. Treat him with a special sweatshirt or hat he has been eyeing or that he could wear around campus or sporting even to show off school spirit. Visible UMass gear is great to have while traveling, like over winter break, because it sparks some great conversations. Last winter, I wore my UMass sweatshirt while going on a plane. Turns out UMass is the alma mater of the woman who was waiting in front of me in the security line, which made waiting a little less boring.
5. Sweaters
Who doesn’t like a man in a sweater? Buy it for him, and since he has it and it’s from you, he’ll wear it.
6. Boxers
For a gift to go along with something else or as a silly present; fun, patterned boxers are a great item to pass along.
7. Picture Frame / Photo Collage
A picture is worth a thousand words. Snapfish.com is a great place for making photo collages to print and frame for him to hang on his wall or prop on his desk. Seeing you two together photographed every day in his room is a sure way to brighten his day.
8. His Favorite Alcohol (if 21+)
Does he have a fancy beverage he specifically enjoys? Get him a nice bottle of that, if you are both of age, of course.
9. IOUs
For a last minute gift, an IOU (I owe you) is great. Handmade coupons for a trip to the movies, out to dinner, something outside when it is warm out or weather permitting, or anything else that he enjoys makes for a heartfelt gift that keeps giving long after the holiday is over.
10. Fun phone case/life proof case (if it seems necessary)
A decorative phone case is always fun to carry around, especially if it reflects his personality or interests. If he tends to be careless or clumsy with his phone, a life proof case might be just what he wants or needs to be worry-free.
No matter what you decide to get him, he will appreciate the thought and that it’s from YOU!
