Alpha Phi/Greek Life:

Explain a little bit about what being an Alpha Phi is like and what it’s like to be a part of Greek life here at UMaine:

Greek Life at UMaine is unique in many ways. We support each other and understand each other. We each have our own philanthropies and events, but we are all working towards the same common goals: to make the best of our four years (sometimes five) here, to raise money for causes close to our own hearts (go Women’s Heart Health!!) and to create close bonds with our brothers and sisters that will live long after graduation.

Joining Greek Life was never a part of my college plan but I came into college wanting to try new things and go out of my comfort zone, so I signed up for formal recruitment as a freshman and through the amazing recruitment process, I found my home away from home (even though we don’t have a house). I truly believe I have become a better version of myself in my short amount of time in Greek Life and I know that in my year serving as Chapter President, I will continue to grow and learn about myself and my sisters. Being an Alpha Phi means surprise coffees on a rough Friday morning (@Taylor Dube), spa nights the week before formal and having a constant, loving support system for when you are having a bad day.
