5 Reasons NOT to Cry During Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

It’s officially finals week. Although your first instinct may be to burst into tears, it’s probably best to refrain. Here are five reasons why you shouldn’t cry during finals week:

1) You still have your final whether or not you cry.

Best reason not to cry: it doesn’t change whether you have a final. You can cry about it, or you can procrastinate, or you can study. Either way, any option is better than crying- mascara is expensive!

2) Accomplishments are cool.

Remember reading the syllabus and calculating how to do as little work as possible on that project? Well you still managed to get it done! (Even if it was at 4 am the morning it was due.)

3) Fogler understands.

Fogler accommodates. Fogler knows that while we’re here for a degree, we might slip up and need to stay at the library until 2:30 am cramming for that exam.

4) You always have your friends.

After long days of studying and taking exams, we all love to unwind and hang out with our friends. It’s our last week with everyone in one place for a month- take a shot for every flash card you answer correctly!!

5) YOU’RE DONE!

The only thing standing between you and a month at home with your dog and home friends is one test that also signifies the end of the class for you.
