Playing on Pinterest: Making a Personal Goal Calendar

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

I, like most college kids are ridiculously busy. If I don’t write down what I need to get done, I will undoubtedly forget it. You will find me constantly making to-do lists, but there are always a few things on the list that need to get done in a specific time period. Whether it be that day, week, or month. There are even things that I have decided that I want to accomplish this year. So, instead of toting around a list that I can lose and that I’m constantly updating, I stumbled upon a better option while on Pinterest. It’s easy to make, and you can update it as time passes, or as you accomplish each task. You can post your little goal calendar in your room to be a constant reminder to get all your undertakings accomplished.

What you will need:

  • Post it notes
  • Pencil
  • Marker
  • Ruler
  • Piece of 12 by 12 inch piece of paper
  • Tape
  • Piece of 4.5 inch by 10 inch piece of white paper

Directions:

Step 1: Cut your 4.5×10 in. piece of white paper.

Step 2: Take ruler and trace a 3×3 in box on the white sheet of paper.

Step 3: Write : Goal List For, in the blank white space on piece of 4.5×10 paper and attach sticky note in 3×3 square.

Step 4: Place white sheet on 12×12 in paper at top and centered.

Step 5: Line up 6 sticky notes underneath the header, make sure there is even space between each (around ½ inch) and place on sheet. Trace little lines around, so when changing out notes, you know exactly where to put them.

Step 6: Write your goals on the sticky notes and hang in your place of choice.

Step 8: Voila! Your Goal List Calendar is finished!

Step 9: Get your goals ACCOMPLISHED!!!!

So Her Campus ladies, next time you feel unorganized, or overwhelmed by everything you need to get done, turn to your handy Goal List Calendar and it will help keep you calm, cool, and collected, not to mention on top of your game!

She has been a part of the Her Campus University of Iowa team since it was founded in 2010 and is a member of Ed on Campus. She has grown to love magazine writing and editing and if she somehow can't land her dream job (to be Carrie Bradshaw), she wouldn't mind settling for a job in the magazine industry. If nothing else, she hopes to attend law school somewhere in the Bay Area out West, her favorite place to be. Since the age of 15, Emily spent her summers in California, doing internships and falling in love with San Francisco. Some of her other interests include her 4-month-old longhaired wiener dog Henry, blogging, celebrity gossip, sushi, Private Practice, fro-yo, being a journalism nerd, and anything involving good conversation with good people. Although she's not exactly sure of her plans for the future, she knows journalism will somehow be the driving force in her career.
