Office Desk to Makeup Bag

I may be addicted to pinterest, scrolling, pinning, scrolling, pinning.  I’m not ashamed, I mean maybe a little…but until I figure out how acquire every outfit, do a perfect cat eye, amazing nail art, flawless eyeshadow, and complete a pinterest work out without ending up in the kitchen concocting a pinterest recipe involving my weight in chocolate, I will continue to pin. Fortunately for my social life, I got a little head start with the nail art and make up, thanks to some random treasures I found in my desk.

Business Cards

I’ve made my fair share of trips to college advising appointments and office hours, racking up a nice stack of business cards of people who I probably will never contact, but no doubt, they will be put to good use without even knowing it!

·         Easily declump your mascara with the corner of a business card, be careful not to poke your eye out though!

·         Place the business card on your upper or lower lash line while applying mascara to prevent any from transferring onto your lid or under eye.

·         Place the card under your eye while applying eye shadow to catch any powdery fall out, especially with dark colors. This prevents you from looking like you just got in a brawl, or from looking like a character from The Walking Dead.

Scotch Tape (Post-its work too!)

·         Place a piece of tape under your eye on the outside corner to form the perfect cat eye. from there, apply your eye shadow. The tape creates a perfect line allowing you to screw up as much as you want when doing a trendy cat eye eyeshadow look. This trick can also be used to get the perfect cat eye eyeliner look.

·         If you’re Ke$ha, or want to be glitzy and do a fun eye look with glitter, use tape to remove it after your night out. Or, sleep with your make up on in a dumpster and brush your teeth with a bottle of jack, it’s really your call.

Nail Art

Want stripes, chevron, flowers, hearts, reverse colorful French tips and everything else?

·         Get all stripey with sharpies! This is super easy. Draw the stripe with one of the million color sharpies out there (or all!) and cover with a clear coat. Voila. These can be used to make polka dots, hearts, you name it.

·         For the perfect polka dot, drip a few drops of nail polish onto a clean surface and dip the tip of a push pin in the polish, place the tip on your nail and repeat. Perfect every time

·         For traditional French tips, and those cool reverse ones where the half moon of your nail is painted, invest in some of those little sticky circles that you reinforce your papers holes with. Stick these at the tip or bottom of your nail, depending on what look you want. They make the perfect French tip as well as a perfect half moon. Simply polish and you’re set!
