This week’s University of Iowa Campus Celebrity is Summer Knapp! Summer is a sophomore broadcast journalism and sport business studies double major with big dreams of becoming an ESPN correspondent.
Summer’s love of sports and the fact that she’s always been a die-hard Hawkeye fan made attending the University of Iowa an obvious choice.
Summer hails from the small town of Port Byron, Illinois. In high school she worked on the school newspaper, the yearbook, and was captain of the cheerleading team. Besides being heavily involved in high school activities, Summer also worked as a model for Ford Modeling Agency. Summer decided to give up her modeling career to concentrate on school. When she isn’t in class, Summer can be found working as a server and manager at Short’s Eastside. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends and playing with her dog, Scrappy.
