Fashion and Beauty: Jurlique Say What? Tips for Healthy Skin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Ok my beauty gurus today I’m bringing you in on a little secret as to how I get my skin to stay healthy and glowing, regardless of the sun, cold, wind, stress, or poor college diet. My trick isn’t a magic makeup, but it is my skin care regimen. Ever since I was young my mother stressed the importance of taking care of your skin, and how even if your rolling in at 4 a.m. you should still take off your make up and cleanse your face of all the bad. After years of searching for the skin care line that truly made my skin feel clean and radiant I stumbled upon Jurlique. You might be saying what in the world is Jurlique, but let me tell you this will soon become your new best friend.

Jurlique is a company that originated in Australia about 25 years ago, but they are slowly gathering a following here in the states. Just this summer alone they have been featured in Harper’s Bazar, Allure, Elle, Women’s Health, and many more magazines. The company uses natural ingredients such as rose petal, almond, aloe vera, mint, honey, green tea, and black elder (which is a berry/ flower that has many positive beauty attributes) in all of their products. I have used Jurlique products for 3 years now and I can firmly say I will never look back at any other skin treatments.

This company is all about keeping your skin fresh and keeping as many unnatural things off of it. If you enter their site you can do a skin consultation, or they have their products separated by your skin concerns. They are categorized such as Dryness, Oil and Blemish Control, Redness/ Sensitive skin, or uneven skin tone. From there you are matched with products that will not only correct your skins problems, but it will bring your skin to a whole new level. You will be lustrous and radiant, and your skin will be blissful and nourished by what its craving most.

I personally have sensitive skin and tend to lack a natural warmth, so I use the Balancing Foaming Cleanser, the Pure White Skin Brightening Mist, and the day and night Skin Brightening Moisturizers. Together all of these products work together to get off all, yes ALL, of my makeup and to fish out my skins inner glow. Other products I love is the Fruit Enzyme Exfoliator, that helps get out pesky dirt in pores and leaves you feeling super fresh. Also, the Herbal Eye Recovery Cream is AMAZING. If you have been studying for hours and your eyes are kind of puffy and tired, dab this on overnight and your eyes will shine the next morning, and you can kiss dark circles goodbye.

The other wonderful aspect to all of these products is that they all smell great! You can pick up on the hints of chamomile and lavender; they don’t smell like a chemical plant. Also, not only I love these products, but so do all the celebs. Nicole Kidman (Natural Aussie) has used Jurlique for years, along with Liv Tyler, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and even some guys such as Gerard Butler and Jared Leto. All and all Jurlique has made a complete 180 of where my skin was and how it looks today. So even us college girls can get the glow of a celebrity with the natural and phenomenal Jurlique.
