Meet this week’s Campus Cutie–Cristina Bates!
Cristina is a native California girl, living the University of Iowa dream. Cristina grew up traveling the world with her family, but decided to come to Iowa to study her biggest passion—music! Cristina is a flute performance major and one day hopes to perform in an orchestra for musicals, ballets, operas, etc., as well as to have her own studio where she can help mentor and teach students. In Cristina’s words, “Music is all I do!” In her spare time, when she’s not practicing or drinking espresso at Java House, Cristina is involved in music ensembles on campus, is a waitress at a downtown restaurant, and is always spending time with her friends and roommates.
Cristina has a trendy and beautiful fashion sense that makes her the ideal Campus Cutie. Her fashion is the perfect combination of sophisticated and fun. Cynthia, Christina’s sister who is currently working in the fashion industry in Los Angeles, is one of her biggest fashion icons, as is the gorgeous Blake Lively. As a teenager, Cristina was involved in pageants and modeling, making fashion a large part of her life for a long time. Cristina is always up to date on the latest trends in fashion. Her essential accessories are statement necklaces, but this fall she’s looking forward to wearing her new gray ankle boots, infinity scarves and comfy sweaters.
