Cuddling under a warm blanket in soft PJ’s, sipping hot cocoa while the fireplace is crackling, is easily one of the most relaxing aspects of this time of year. With holiday music playing and the Christmas tree up and decorated, it is easy to get into a festive spirit. If you need that extra little push or even if you just want a little bit more Christmas cheer, here are five movies that will get you in the Christmas spirit.
Â
1. Elf
Buddy the Elf is played by Will Ferrell in this Christmas comedy. This movie is about a boy who has grown up at the North Pole but never really felt like he fit in there. Watch his adventures as he visits New York during Christmas time.Â
2. The Santa Clause
One of my personal favorites, The Santa Clause stars Tim Allen in a family-friendly classic about a dad and his son spending Christmas Eve together. Everything is normal until Santa falls off of their roof.Â
3. Home Alone
Imagine being left behind as your family leaves for a Christmas vacation. Well, that’s exactly what happens to Kevin McCallister in Home Alone. To make matters worse, he must fend off two con men that are planning to rob his house.Â
4. A Christmas Prince
If you are a Hallmark channel kind of girl then this movie is for you. An aspiring young journalist is sent to another country to get the inside scoop on the prince soon to be crowned king but instead finds herself falling in love.Â
5. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
This stop-motion film depicts the adorable little reindeer named Rudolph. Follow him and his pals as they journey to the land of misfit toys.
Most of these movies can be found on Netflix or Hulu during the holiday season. Another option is to keep a look out for the nightly Christmas movies played throughout December on TV. Lastly, you can always check for these movies at your local Family Video (if those still exist by you). However you choose to get them, I definitely recommend that you give them a try. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
