Trend Alert: Animal Sweaters

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Any girl would love to release their inner animal with a Patronous from Harry Potter, but seeing as we all aren’t witches, this winter you can express this with the latest trend of animal sweaters.

Seen on the racks and in multiple catalogs of different stores, people (including celebrities) are buying sweaters with animals on the front.  Everyone loves that Lizzie McGuire episode where she refuses to wear that sweater with the unicorn on the front.  Well, this winter, that sweater is perfect for the latest trend.  Last year I spotted an animal sweater on Rachel Berry from Glee, and I couldn’t help but melt for the trend.  What seems like a childish and silly trend is just so wrong that it’s right.

Maybe this trend is just too cute because who doesn’t love a furry animal on the front of a sweater?  A sweater is cozy by itself, and then add a fuzzy animal on the front and it just can’t help but melt your heart.

This fashion trend throws me back to my childhood when I would buy shirts with the cutest puppies and kittens on them.  Just because I’m an adult doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy these cutesy animals anymore?  I mean, I’m still that seven year old with the 90’s bangs and shirt with golden retriever puppies on it at heart.  Fashion is all about having fun, so try this trend this winter to add a little spice to those bland winter days!
